Color
Color trends change about every 10 years. Do you recall the green, gold and red jewel tones of the 1990’s and the Tuscan browns and tans of the 2000’s? And when did the current black and gray scheme slip into vogue? No matter what colors you have in your rooms or on the exterior of your house, they must relate to all the other elements in the space. Undertones must be identified and colors must be compared in order to specify color correctly.
Choosing the proper paint color can be one of the most difficult decisions. Comparing tiny paint chips from the hardware store to the rest of your room can be daunting. I have acquired a technique for identifying wall color and coordinating it with all the tones in a room – fabrics, furniture, flooring, brick, tile, counters, cabinets, etc.
I am a Certified True Color Expert. I have 11 x 14”color boards that are painted rather than printed like other color samples from the paint store. Instead of a fan deck with hundreds of tiny 1 x 2” paint chips, I have 100 large boards with colors that work 80% of the time. Seeing paint color on a larger scale helps us identify the right colors with confidence.
In addition, I am a Benjamin Moore Color Consultant. I have the entire line of BM colors in 4 x 4” printed samples as well as access to larger 8 x 8” samples. All the colors we select can be color-matched if you prefer not to use BM paint.
